I will be carrying out a printmaking demonstration at the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair on Friday, November 12 2021 from 6-10pm, together with my fellow Print Associates from the Art Academy, Jackie Smith and Annabel McIver. Find out how to use an etching press to make a drypoint print.
The relationship between humans and nature is the focus of my work. My prints were selected for two exhibitions this year on the theme of artists' responses to the climate and ecological crisis. My photoetching, 'Phantom' (above) is currently being exhibited in the Printmakers' Council exhibition, Ecologies of Change, from 16 September to 26 November, 2021. The exhibition is being held at the Royal Over-Seas League, Over-Seas House, Park Pl, St James's St, London. https://printmakerscouncil.com/
My linocut print 'Tabula Anatomica' (above) was exhibited at University College Hospital, London, as part of Health and the Climate & Ecological Emergency, a joint Healthcare Arts Collective and UCLH arts and heritage exhibition. The exhibition can still be seen online at https://smartify.org/venues/uclh-arts-heritage/artworks
As part of a great local initiative, the Artists Walk, reproductions of two of my prints were shown over summer 2021 in the grounds of Alexandra Palace, London, N10. The Artists Walk showcased the works of 28 Haringey artists. https://www.artistswalk.org/
I showed recent prints, including 'Homecoming' (above) in the Crouch End Open Studios Art Trail in September 2021. Earlier in the month, I took part in the Artists' Conversations series organised by Crouch End Open Studios. I discussed my inspiration, processes, and the potential and excitement of making art through print with printmaker and mixed media artist Caroline Elliott.
